
CLARENCE TAN
Executive Chairman
Dr Clarence N.W. Tan is founder and Executive Chairman of Bond Wireless. He formerly was the Associate Dean (Community Relations) and currently an Adjunct Professor at Bond University. He was selected to be on the panel of International Judges representing Australia for the Asia Pacific IC & T Awards in 2002. Prior to that he was the Chair of the Australian Asia Pacific IT&T Award 2001 Judging Panel for the Smart Internet and Communication Technology Category and was the Chair for the Games, Media and Entertainment Category, as well as a judge in the Banking and Finance Category in 2000. He is the current Chair of the Gold Coast Chapter of the Australian Computer Society and had been a committee member of the Gold Coast Regional IT Forum for a number of years. Dr. Tan is a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society (FACS), an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australia (SIA), a Senior Associate of the Australian Institute of Banking and Finance (AIBF), a member of a number of other professional bodies, including the Australian Technical Analysts Association (ATAA), Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Eta Kappa Nu, Omega Rho and Alpha Pi Mu. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Business Administration (UK).
Prior to his academic career, he had worked for a number of multi-national corporations, including as a Manager of Citibank’s Foreign Exchange Strategic Positioning and Technical Trading Unit, a Management Consultant for Xerox Electronic Publishing Center, an Associate at Citibank Asia Pacific Technology Group in Hong Kong, and an Associate at Citibank North American Investment Banking in Wall Street.
Dr. Tan obtained his Ph.D. from Bond University’s Centre for Banking and Finance. Prior to that, he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Computers) from the University of Southern California in 1986, where he went on to simultaneously complete a Master of Business Administration (Finance), and a Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering in 1989.
GARETH EDWARDS
Technical Manager
Gareth obtained his Bachelor of Information Technology from Bond
University with majors in Software Development and Internet Technology.
Previously, Gareth held IT management positions with an e-commerce company and was project manager for the
EScript project developed to link doctors and chemists electronically.
He has also worked with the Department of Education in an IT consultancy
capacity. Gareth is an Associate of the Australian Computer Society (AACS), member of the Association for
Computer Machinery (ACM), and is a qualified Justice of the Peace (Qld).
Gareth’s expert skills include: mobile and wireless solutions (hardware and software),
IT consultancy, vertical Business-To-Business
and Business-To-Consumer portals.
BRETT MILNE
Marketing Director
Brett brings to Bond Wireless an extensive background in marketing
and product development with the communications industry. Brett
has over 15 years experience in the telecommunications industry
including senior marketing and product development roles with
Telstra and AAPT Mobile. Brett’s current focus is on the
commercialisation and customisation of the unique technology and
business optimising capabilities developed by Bond Wireless.
NICHOLAS HAMILTON
Research and Development Manager
Nicholas obtained his Bachelor of Information Technology from
Bond University with a major in Networking and Software Development.
Nicholas previously held positions within IBM Tivoli (security
industry), Bond University (tutoring positions) and Queensland
Department of Education (Network Administrator). Nick was also
the Australian National Treasurer for the IBM Associate Network.
Nicholas’ expert skills include: mobile-commerce technology
solutions, enterprise Java development & security, solution
design.
CHARLIE CHENG
General Manager of Business Development
Charlie brings to Bond Wireless track records in promoting and marketing IT&T products & technologies. He has held various senior product sales and marketing positions with leading companies such as Nortel, Acterna and Bellsouth as well as startup ventures such as CI Wave, a US-based wireless service provider. Charlie is responsible for Bond Wireless channel partnerships and account management.
Charlie earned a Bachelor's in Telecommunication Engineering, Masters of Computer Science and a MBA.
IAN PARMINTER
Project Manager
Ian has earned a Bachelor of Information Technology degree from Queensland University of Technology. Ian also has trained as a technical officer and in project management. He has over 30 years experience in the telecommunications industry, working in areas of line transmission, information technology, charging and billing, and data and internet product development.
Ian brings expertise in project management, requirements gathering, business case development, and customer care.
